Welcome to Beth Israel Synagogue. Our name, Beth Israel, means House of Israel and this congregation has been the religious home for Jewish families in Beaufort for more than one hundred years.

Events

Religious School: Every Saturday morning starting at 10:00 AM. Leaders are: Ellen Rhoden and Marion Lipton.

Synagogue Bulletin (Beth Israel Light): Published every 3 months and mailed to all members. The bulletin contains messages and information from our leaders and all upcoming schedules. Also listed are Yahrzeits for the time period, birthdays and anniversaries.

Permanent Schedules:

Congregational dinner in Social Hall.

Sabbath services every Friday night at 8:00 PM. On the first Friday of each month there is an Oneg immediately following services.

On the Saturday preceding Rosh Chodesh there is a morning service starting at 10:00 AM with a light lunch served by our religious school when it is in session.


The schedule for the Saturday morning services for the next (Hebrew calendar) year is as follows:

2008: August 30th, October 25th, November 22nd, December 20th

2009: January 24th, February 21st, March 21st, April 18th, May 23rd, June 20th, July 18th, August 15th


High Holiday Services are as follows:

Rosh Hashanah Eve will be on Monday, September 29 and Rosh Hashanah 5769 is Tuesday September 30.

On the second day of Rosh Hashanah we celebrate Tashlich at the Beaufort river.

Erev Yom Kippur, Kol Nidre, is October 8 and Yom Kippur is Thursday, October 9.

A complete schedule of High Holiday services will be published in the Synagogue bulletin preceding the Holiday season.
